The Opportunity

Dealstack is on a mission to power private equity. Today, there is no purpose-built tech in place to power the world of private equity. Dealmaking is manual, chaotic and backward. Dealstack is a SaaS platform that puts an end to these outdated practices, setting a new collaboration standard in the industry. Dealstack is built by PE, for PE. Founded by experienced professionals from within the industry, our products sit at the intersection of SaaS, fintech and legaltech.

Dealstack has an ambitious, multi-product roadmap. The first product went live in 2023. It allows private equity professionals to easily onboard and maintain investment programmes. Following strong commercial traction from leading industry players, we are looking for ambitious individuals, with proven software engineering skills and experience working for a high growth software company. The role presents an exciting opportunity to build and deliver innovation to a fast-moving industry.

Who you are

At least 3-4 years of commercial experience in DevOps/SRE/Cloud Engineer role
Hands-on experience with most common services in AWS (EC2, RDS, SQS, VPC, Lambda, Cognito, IAM, ECR etc.)
Containerization & orchestration experience (Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, AWS ECS, AWS EKS)
Knowledge of IaC tools (Terraform, AWS CloudFormation or similar)
Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef or similar)
Familiarity with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, AWS CloudWatch or similar)
Hands-on experience with building and optimizing CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Workflows, GitLab CI/CD, Bitbucket Pipelines, Jenkins or similar)
Knowledge of at least 1 scripting language (Bash, Python or similar)

What job involves

Design, improve and maintain cloud architecture in AWS
Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines running on GitHub
Maintain infrastructure including servers running on both bare metal and VMs
Monitoring of our applications, as well as incident response

Desirable skills

Understanding of code written by other developers (mostly in TypeScript/JavaScript)
Solid knowledge of Linux-based servers administration (networking, security etc.)
Knowledge of deployment patterns such as blue/green deployments, canary deployments etc.
Understanding of SRE principles such as observability, SLA/SLO/SLI, emergency response etc.
Prior experience with maintenance of GitHub hosted runners
Extensive knowledge of good security practices including familiarity with OWASP
Experience or at least understanding of work at the product-based company
Having engineer mindset, ability to understand problems without going too deep in terms of low level
Comfortable with working in a team environment as well individually
Very strong communication, influencing and presentation skills, with a deep sense of personal excellence and accountability
International experience and knowledge; cultural sensitivity and ability to work across multiple markets / cultures
Positive, mature approach to problem solving
High EQ and interpersonal skills, with an ability to read and respond to complex and challenging situations
Team player with a desire and ability to function in a fun, flexible, changing environment
Be a self-starter, who takes the initiative to solve problems
